FESTSCHRIFT IN HONOUR OF WILLIAM ABIODUN AKINFOLARIN

A festschrift that covers a broad spectrum of management practices in librarianship and other issues in Library and Information Science (LIS) in the 21st century is being packaged by the University Library in honour of William Abiodun Akinfolarin, CLN, the pioneer head at the University Library, University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo City, Ondo State, Nigeria. The honour is deemed fit on this personality as he prepares to bow out of the academic system in the year 2020

Brief Biography

William A. Akinfolarin is an astute manager, administrator and mentor in librarianship. He started his career at the Kashim Ibrahim Library, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1979. He served a two-term tenure as the University Librarian, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba- Akoko, Ondo State (2005-2015). His professional sojourn spans through pioneering roles at the university libraries of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ado-Ekiti (1983), which became Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti (1987), and later Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (2000). He was also a pioneer staff member at the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo (2015), where he currently serves as the Ag. University Librarian. He is a recipient of several awards, an achiever and administrator per excellence.
